Mom Knows Champaign Paper is Cool!

April 26, 2016

State & Third is proud to carry a variety of products made by local artisans. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we thought we would share our interview with Beth Tran and Shaun Mueller co-founders of Champaign Paper, who just delivered some great Mother’s Day cards to the shop.

How would you describe your product? Our paper products include greeting cards, boxed cards, and art prints. Each design on our cards and our art prints are unique, detailed, hand-drawn, and hand-lettered.

What was your motivation to launch your own business?  Shaun has always wanted to start his own business and Beth has always wanted to sell her art. When we found out we were pregnant with our little girl, we decided that Beth would need a career from home so she could care for our baby. Beth's best friend had asked her to design her wedding invitations, and that's when we were inspired to create our own line of cards. When our business took off, we both quit our day jobs and put all of our energy into Champaign Paper.

What inspires you? Beth is inspired by her every day surroundings, nature, and passion for stationery.

What other locally-made products do you follow/like? A few Columbus makers we love is Silver Bridge Coffee Company's flavorful coffee and Luna Burger's amazing locally-made veggie burgers. We have run into a few other vendors outside of Columbus that we really enjoy as well. A few of them include The Social Department's unique and bold shirts (Akron, OH), Stegokitty's colorful zipper pouches, shirts, magnets, and more (Akron, OH), and Prather Team's beautiful woodworking and art (Baltic, OH). There's honestly too many creative people to name!

Thanks for shopping at State & Third and supporting local and U.S. made goods!
